At Petrie Advanced Dental, our goal is to give every one of our patients the finest in dental health as well as a beautiful smile they can feel confident in. To accomplish these goals, our amazing team of dental professionals has access to a variety of treatments to help relax facial muscles and enhance your natural smile.

Therapeutic Facial Treatments
There are two key uses for facial muscle relaxation treatments that we implement at Petrie Advanced Dental. One is aesthetic, where targeted care can provide a refreshed, more youthful look. This method smooths “smile lines” and reduces the appearance of wrinkles around your mouth, allowing your wonderful smile to appear even more vibrant.
The second use is viewed as a more traditional medical treatment. For anyone suffering from pain or discomfort caused by TMJ/TMD, these therapeutic services help relax facial muscles, reducing pain and discomfort associated with these disorders.
What Are the Benefits of Facial Aesthetic Treatments?
Many of our patients choose to take advantage of our therapeutic facial aesthetics services. We can do many things that can provide:
- A Younger Appearance: Treatments give patients a refreshed, timeless appearance.
- Self-Confidence: Being proud of your appearance makes a big impact on self-esteem. Our treatments can help you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
- Fewer Wrinkles: Skincare alone doesn’t always achieve desired results. Our services can help tighten and smooth the skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles.
- Relaxed Facial Muscles: Treatments can give you pain relief if you suffer from frequent headaches, jaw aches, or muscle tension.

What Can Facial Aesthetics Treatments Do for Me?
Our therapeutic services are very versatile. We can adjust them according to your goals for the aesthetic of your smile and face. Here are some examples of what facial aesthetic treatments can do:
- Support a More Balanced Smile | Treatments can help relax the muscles around the lips, allowing them to rest more comfortably over the teeth when smiling.
- Smooth Wrinkles | Our targeted therapies can reduce the appearance of fine lines by improving muscle relaxation.
- Relieve Chronic Migraines | Addressing certain muscle groups may help prevent or treat headache symptoms.
- Enhance Lip Appearance | We offer options to improve lip balance and shape for a fuller look.
- Reduce Smile Lines | If you’re noticing lines near your eyes when you smile, our treatments can help soften their appearance.
What Is the Treatment Process?
Thanks to the incredible standards Petrie Advanced Dental has for our dedicated dental professionals, the process of receiving therapeutic facial treatments is both streamlined and comprehensive.

Consultation
Like all of the wonderful treatments we offer, the facial aesthetics process begins with a consultation. During this consultation, there will be a discussion on your expectations. For aesthetic enhancements, you will be asked about the results you would like to see in facial areas. If you are looking for treatment to help relieve TMJ/TMD pain, the discussion will most likely focus on the intensity of the aches or discomfort.

Treatment Session
Once the consultation is complete, you can schedule your appointment. It is an in-house procedure, where a targeted application will be performed in the areas discussed with Dr. Petrie. The process will be comfortable, and thanks to the streamlined method, the entire appointment will likely take an hour or less.

Treatment Timeline
You may not notice any significant difference in your appearance for several weeks after your appointment. This is normal. It will take some time for your body to adjust to the treatment, but once it does, you’ll enjoy the results.
Another advantage to our therapeutic services is that they are temporary. Try out your improved facial aesthetic for a few months, and if you wish to continue with the treatment, we recommend scheduling touch-ups every 4–6 months.
